Talking about the art itself, Songs and their recordings are a little like persons to me… you know, for example, there are loads of beautiful people out there. But just because they’re good looking, you don’t wanna marry them. Loads and loads of smaller details make the whole appearance and the individual person, so whenever I write and record a song, it’s like creating such a person. The character, the style, the taste and so on, it just has to fit, and bottom line it should be individual and interesting. Beautiful in its own way , but with rough edges on the surface. I don’t like it to be too perfect.

So the song itself has to be the core, the power and the strength behind the whole thing you listen to, and the production, the mixing and the effects and instruments and all the little pieces you add pretty much form the face, the beauty.

Chris Linke.
